What to take when stationed overseas?

I just finished basic training a couple of days ago and I'm being stationed in Germany. I'm single and will be in the barracks with roommates. Making black furniture lighter?

I have a black CD cabinet that I want to change the color to a walnut. Since it is factory done I don't think trying to strip the paint will work. I guess it's plywood and the black has been sealed in. Can I paint it white and then put a wood conditioner on it and then stain it with an oil based walnut stain?

Need help with modern design scheme and other rooms?

Hello! I really need help with design scheme for a few rooms. I would like to do a modern theme red, black, white, silver type colors for the living room and kitchen. I was thinking maybe light gray walls in the living room. Most of the furniture I will be getting is black. The sectional is black and gray and I thought I would get red throw pillows to put on it. In the kitchen I was thinking of painting it red but I don't know? I don't want it to be too overwhelming, any suggestions? Hoping to go with a Chef theme in there. Okay, and for other rooms I also need ideas. Boyfriend says it would be too much to continue the same colors in our bedroom and I should go for a completely different color. Why can't i stop thinking about The Maze Runner Trilogy?

I've just recently finished reading the first two books in The Maze Runner Trilogy (The third one hasn't come out yet) and i find myself CONSTANTLY thinking about it. Especially the second book. In pretty much ALL of my free time i keep thinking about 2 of the main characters (Tom and Teresa) and how the should get back together and thinking about what they could have been. What's weird is I've NEVER EVER felt this way about other books and I've read TONS of books before and this is the first time something like this has happened. i think i'm becoming obsessed. I find myself dreaming about it, thinking about it first thing when i wake up in the morning and also the last thing before i go to bed!!! Anyone who watches Criminal Minds!!?

I have been searching for an episode. i cannot remember the name or what happens in it. There are only some scenes from the episode that i can remember. At the start it shows a girl being wheeled on a stretcher by a white male dressed as a surgeon. She asks "is this a hospital?" she gets no response so she looks to the left and sees a furnace looking thing and then her eyes widen and the intro starts. Another scene i can remember is she is walking through the same building but it looks like a maze, she encounters choices of paths and locked and opened doors. She goes through a door only to find a pack of dogs that chase her. I can't remember what happens next but i remember in another scene she opens a door and she doesn't notice a step and she falls into a bed of broken glass. She is lying flat on her belly for some time and when she looks up she sees an open door leading out of the building. She slowly crawls there through the broken glass but when she reaches the door, it slams in front of her face. I really want to see this episode again as it was an exciting one from what i remember. When you walk into my house you walk directly into the living room, next is the dining room and then the sun room or family room, in my mind the tv room. Moving to a new room.. all new furniture?

Okay, so its a pretty big room, 16x16, square, one wall is bare, the 2nd one has a window centered, the next wall has 2 doors one to walk in closet the other to private bath, and the last wall has door to the hall way. LOL!! I loved how you worded this post!! I can't really tell you about when to release them, but you did an awesome thing by saving them. My parents owned a couple warehouses that would end up with mice or rats and the pest guy would put down traps and my husband (just because he loved me) and I would take a broom handle and trigger all the traps so nothing could get caught in them. :-D I've also used humane traps for little mice and releasing them, but have never had to deal with babies. How Do I Handle 11-Month Old Chihuahua Aggression?

I have been very consistent in training my chihuahua, who is now currently 11 months old and 9 lbs. He has been with me since 12-weeks and was neutered as a young puppy as he had started to exhibit certain behaviours (humping objects, etc) that led it to be advised. He is crate trained, potty trained, social and friendly in the dog park, but has exhibited aggressive behaviours from time to time. He is not allowed on the furniture, is made to wait for humans to enter doors first, and must sit or do other tricks to be rewarded or served his food. However, his aggression has been most seen around food, guarding his crate, guarding me, or when people pet him. Before, he would always want attention from others, but now he will be comfortable receiving a pet but then suddenly turns and snaps, warding off whoever is petting him. My boyfriend, who lives with us, is the most frequent victim. This past weekend, after getting picked up from the train station, I was sitting with my mother and the dog in the back seat of the car. She was petting and he suddenly tensed up and tried to bite her. Prior, he had always been very calm and well behaved in the car. On another occasion, while sitting on my boyfriend's lap in the car, my boyfriend was holding him and moved his hands slightly and the dog began to growl. I'd don't know if this is fear based or territorial. But the behaviour is very fickle and changes quickly. He will be accepting one minute, then suddenly tense and upset. He has been examined recently with a good bill of health. This behaviour is never exhibited towards me. After he lashes out, he instantly gets embarrassed, will lower his head in submission, and know that he has done something wrong. But he will still possibly lash out if anyone is in his space. I'm worried as this behaviour is new, as in the past few weeks, and I want to nip it in the bud. In regards to his aggression in the crate, I've had my boyfriend casually drop treats into the crate when the dog is resting inside, and speaking kindly to him. This is slowly improving and he is more accepting of people's presence near his crate. However, the other moments when he snaps are concerning me. If anyone has any advice-- please let me know. I have also been seeing a behaviorist to assist, but wanted to gather additional feedback.

I'm 16 and i'm re-doing my room. I got it re-done when I was 8, and I chose lime green and sky blue. I'm older and those colours seem a little kiddish for me, so I've chosen to re-do my whole room. I have no clue what to do, I just want something older, mature and modern that all my friends are amazed by. I'm not rich, but I have a limit of fair amount of money to spend on this. It's kind of a birthday gift. I know everybody says to pick your favourite colour and start from there, or bedding, but I don't really have one. Every idea I find on the internet I seem to like. For example, I like the idea of a green grove brown for the walls, vermilion red for the bedding and a light grey fleece blanket together, and maybe some photo collages around the room. BUT I also like a manchester tan for the walls and turquoise hawaiian flower themed bedding and antique furnished furniture around the room to match. Does anyone have any ideas fore me to start off with? I play and I like hockey and basketball for sports, but I'm not obsessed with them. Our ground floor bedroom was flooded about a year ago, the landlord hired professional cleaners to dry the carpet, the carpet and underlay was never removed from the cement floor, wardrobes and bed were never moved, they said it would be fine. Now however there is a very mouldy smell in the room and mold appearing inside drawers, on the corner walls beside the skirting boards, on bottom of furniture. This has got to the point we can't sleep in the room as it makes us feel ill, headaches, sore joints, watery eyes, our son has also been ill a lot with sore throats. The landlord is saying we are at fault as it's condensation that's causing the problem, although we open windows to try get rid of the smell, then we find the room smells worse when we close the windows after airing the room, also no mold on the windows.... We want out of here now, but landlord wants a years rent as he's saying it's out fault.... Would the mold be from the flood??? Or condensation????

Help! Dog with severe separation anxiety!?

My dog has severe separation anxiety when my mother or I am not home. I am going to college and she becomes especially depressed and her anxiety is worse when I am not around. We are hoping to cure her before I leave in August, or at least make a huge improvement. When we are not home she eat the curtains and furniture, urinates and defecates, whines barks and cries, runs wild around the house, and makes a mess of the garbage and pantry. I'm having twins and I have a six bedroom house. Right now I'm planning how the house will b decorated. I plan on using the master bedroom for my fiance and me. Then, my twins( a boy and a girl) will share a room until they are about 5 months old. Then, I will have a toy room, an office,and a guest room. Those will be the six bedrooms. Then of course, I will have a kitchen, living room, dining room, all the normal stuff. But a lot of things would be wood like the floors. LIke when you first step ot the back door there is an open area with stone pavement and 4 chairs around a table then there will be a fork with three different choices. One way will have a sign that reads: pool, cottage, garden. So you keep walking (and you're surrounded by flowers and then there is the pool(iin ground with some tables and chairs. THen, you keep walking and there is a little cottage with gardening tools but also a small kitchen. After you pass that you turn right and there is my vegetable gard. If you go all the way back to where you start at the open space. there are more signs leading to the stables, towards the woods behind our house, and other things. So, what do you think. I have finished all of this except I still need to by more books and chairs for my library.

I like it. When you first read the first couple of sentences you immediately assume that the narrator is the one being attacked, but as you read on you find that he/she is infact the attacker. Except for a couple of minor grammatical and spelling errors, it is good. One thing though, the word 'hop' used near the end gives me a mental image of a bunny... The birdseed was brought into the area by mice, but the lack of fecal pellets is a bit puzzling. Mice are seed eaters and hoarders, it seems that they have stockpiled the seeds, but were excluded from their nesting site by the person that stuffed the steel wool into the holes. The amount of birdseed would be ridiculous for a pest control professional to insert into the area, so more than likely the entire amount was put there by a family of mice that are no longer living in the void.

Then I fell into a huge depression never wanting to get out of bed, and never wanting to leave the house. I tried to work random jobs here and there but they were all dead end. I currently I have so many health issues, and on so medications. I'm not as happy and healthy as I use to be. When I got married my weight was 110pds and now I am 165pds at 5'0 in height. My knees hurt, I major stomach issues. I am not happy with myself I hate myself and my husband and I are having material problems. My clock is ticking, I would like to have children. Why does the media portray Mexicans so terribly?

I can tell you from first hand experience it's not the media really but, the Mexicans themselves. Across the street from me are two homes in which Mexicans live. They are without a doubt the worst bunch of neighbors I have ever seen. Each home have about 12 people living there, one with a live chicken. They hang outside in the alley and blast their music, drink beer, and urinate in the alley. I have had them throw their trash in my trash cans, beer cans are laying on the sidewalk near parked cars. How Much are my Pokemon Cards Worth? Please help!?

I found a bunch of Pokemon cards but the ones I'm most curious about are two Pocket Masters cards. They are in Japanese and are of Phanpy and Sentret. They are holographic. How to get over my fear of getting shocked?

Im a 14 year old guy and I am scared of getting shocked. Its more like a phobia. I dont get shocked that often but when I do i HATE it. When it happens in a store, I scream a little and jump back really fast and usually drop what im holding. Everyone stares and its really embarassing... I take procautions to try to reduce my chances of getting shocked. I put lotion on my hands, I try not to slide off of any furniture, or touch any medal or people. When I get out of my car I close my door by pushing on the window instead of the medal. When I do Have to touch medal I usually hit it a few times and then finally put my hand on it. It seems to work most of the time. But im tired of being scared and I want a solution so I don't have to live in fear anymore! I keep thinking ahead when I get a girlfriend and get married, im going to be scared to hold their hands! And then when and if I take my future kids to the playground Im going to be scared to pick them up when they get hurt going down a static infested slide. I don't know what daycare your child is going to, but I agree with others. Find a new one. This teacher is doing your child no favors and could possibly be even doing some harm to her intellectually. It's so exciting to see a kid excited to learn, and I think your little girl is going to have an awesome time in school, whether she is ahead of the other kids or not. But if you feel like you should take her focus off more academic tasks, you could try taking her to a toddler ballet or gymnastics class, or some other hobbies she might enjoy. That won't slow down her learning (and no one should try) but more activities might help keep her engaged so she doesn't get bored.

Suprise for my girlfriend - too much?

me and my girlfriend have a spot that is very special to us. we have made mistakes in the past and here was my plan - wait until 2-3 in the morning, and then set an alarm for fifteen minutes, that will wake my girl up. put a sticky note on her front door that says 'you know where i am.', i know that she will know. there are a few different paths, slightly maze like, until you get to the center of this place which is special to us. i wanted to get those little lights that look like candles but arent? theyre safe, and just lightup. i wanted to place them, leading the way to the center of the place where i will wait, with a few presents placed out for her to find along the way. i thought of; a teddy, earings, chocolate, an engraved paperweight, hand warmers (personal joke). then when she got to the center, happy, suprised and a little afraid xd i will give her a chinese lantern, a pen and some sticky notes. and together we will write down all the mistakes eachother has made in our relationship, stick them to the lantern, and then let the lantern fly, letting go of the past mistakes :) is this good or too much? x

Hmm, I know you said no vampires, but you might like "Blood for the Living" by Kate Nevermore anyway - it's a LOT more scifi than vampires, almost like the author (me) wanted to do hardcore scifi but was afraid it wouldn't sell without blood drinkers. It's very fast-paced & well-written, and reads more like an adventure. Another author to get into that I loved as a teen is Alan Dean Foster. His are almost all scifi & adventure, and there's TON of them.

Hearing protection while shooting?

I do a lot of vermin eradication (rabbits/foxes mostly) and make use of a combo gun. (.22lr/.410 shot over under by savage arms) It would be nice to be able to listen for fox calls etc while hunting, without the risk of hearing damage from the 410. However in this particular state of Australia, Silencers and suppressors are illegal. Can anyone suggest a way that I could protect my hearing while still being able to listen out for those subtle sounds of movement in the hedge lines and box thorns?

Ideas for moving furniture/redoing room for teen girl?

The best idea is to become a member of a local shooting club as such clubs usually have been given access to land for hunting on from local farmers. What do you guys think of the beginning of my short story? PART TWO?

Again this is far too staccato like. Short sentences can work and in some cases are very necessary but you have far too many and for me at least it doesn't work here because they interrupt the flow of the story. The words 'I' and 'she' are again used too often and this is because of the short sentences. Join some of the sentences together in an effort to cut down on the over use of those words. I still say keep writing because this is a good idea and practise does make perfect. Good luck with the story.

The world has apparently become over polluted. This one group of kids are trying to escape and get to the unpolluted part of the world that for some reason no one else can find/knows about/has gone to, and they eventually get there by going through an underground maze with stone walls and booby traps. Is there something wrong with my new syrian hamster or is he ill?

So the last time I asked a question about my new Syrian hamster was because he has been sleeping and basically living in a tiny ball compartment at the end of some tubes i bought to add on to his cage. His cage is huge, its got an Igloo bed, a wheel, all his food and water, a mineral stone to chew on and a cardboard maze,but he just isn't interested. He is always in this little ball compartment whether hes sleeping or just sat wide awake. I'm not concerned that he's not eating because the food in the food bowl does go down everyday which is good and although i haven't seen him drink from his bottle that seems to be less full too. But because he's new and i have only handled him while in the shop and when bringing him home and putting him in the cage i don't want to stress him out or disturb him so I've left him to come out in his own time but that's the problem he just wont come out. I put bedding in a tube for him and he dragged this down to the compartment and used some of it for a bed, then kicked it all out in to the tube and also kicked out all the wood shavings so he was sleeping on bare plastic which i thought was strange, but he seems to have kept some bedding and put the wood shavings back for his bed but he has blocked the tube, whenever i remove the bedding from the tube he blocks it up again. Also the compartment is really small with air holes, but its really steamy which I'm thinking is either down to a lot of wee, or condensation or both! I've had him for 4 days now and i haven't touched the little compartment because i know this is where he feels safe and i don't want to scare him but it looks really damp and wet and the food is days old. I don't know what to do because i don't want to scare him but I'm scared that because this little bed is so full off wee, poo, steamy and damp I've read hamsters can get wet tail from sleeping in damp and not clean conditions. Please help on what to do im really worried and plus i want to start handling him but i can't!

I've just repainted my bedroom in a color called "Arizona At Noon". It's sort of a sunset gold. My bedding is burnt orange, and all the furniture is honey oak.
