I'm thinking of renting an apartment for the next 6 months, should i get furnished or not?

My wife and I need a break apart from each other for a while, and I am thinking about moving into an apartment for 6 months. It will only be a 1 BR 1 BA, so it will be small. Should I purchase furniture or rent a furnished apartment? How much more do they charge for a furnished apartment? Thanks.
